Gothenberg is the second-largest city in Sweden and the fifth-largest in the Nordic countries. Situated on the west coast of Sweden, the city proper has a population of 516,532.
Gothenburg is home to many students, as the city includes both the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology.
The city has a number of star chefs, over the past decade, seven of the Swedish Chef of the Year Awards have been won by Gothenburgers.
There are a dozen clubs in one area of Gothenburg, reportedly more per square metre than anywhere else in Sweden.
Gothenburg is a pleasant shopping city with most shops and department stores located within convenient walking distance, in the city centre. Gothenburg’s main shopping districts are; Nordstan, Innerstaden and Avenyn.
