The Botanical Gardens in Linz, among the most beautiful in Europe, extend over 4.2 hectares.This green oasis is acclaimed for its rare orchid collections and a notable cactus collection.

Open air musical and cultural events are a popular tradition in Linz, a city which was European Cultural Capital in 2009. Pflasterspektakel, Ars Electronica and the Linz Cloud of Sound are cultural trademarks that are well known far beyond Linz.

The recently built Lentos, situated on the south banks of the river Danube, is a modern art gallery, presenting art from the 20th and 21st centuries.
