Through an innovative curriculum, you can customise your programme by choosing electives, specialisations or up to two additional languages. The combination of lectures, real-business world projects, internship and global exchange, will prepare you to start your own business, launch a career at a multinational corporation, and thrive in the world of international business

Programme content


Year 1: The foundation year starts with essential modules such as Business English, Principles of Economics and Marketing. As part of the personal and professional development learning track, HvA offers modules such as Team Development and Cross-Cultural Awareness. In the second semester you will launch and run a real company in Co-Creative Entrepreneurship

Year 2: Customise your second year by choosing four elective modules, including the opportunity to study a second business language, such as Spanish, Mandarin or Japanese. Strengthen your business aptitude further by taking modules on Change Management and International Business Law. Participate in a real-life hands-on team competition for the best business case in the second semester.

Year 3: Specialise in one of six tracks, such as Entrepreneurship or Language & Culture Immersion, where you will learn an additional business language such as Mandarin, French or Spanish.You will study abroad through a global exchange at one of HvA's 100+ partner universities such as Nanyang Business School in Singapore. Alternatively, you choose a minor from specialisations such as Building Partnerships in China or Latin American Business Studies

Year 4: During your last year, you will follow four final modules (online or live) such as Academic  Research and Writing and Advanced Leadership Development and start an internship at a company abroad or at a multinational in the Netherlands such as Google, Nike or Booking.com.  In the second semester of your final year, you will write your thesis while working as a consultant-in-making at a company or conduct an applied business research assignment at our Centre for Entrepreneurial Dynamics and International Strategy (CEDIS)

Graduates can access the Masters in Business Studies at the University of Amsterdam

Entry Requirements


2 A-levels + 4 GCSE's. One A-Level in either Maths or Business or Accounting

Five passes at Leaving Cert (minimum 200 points) OR relevant QQi/FETAC Level 5. Subjects to include Maths.
