Programme profile

This programme, which is delivered at the Malmo Art Academy, is aimed at developing your knowledge and understanding of Fine Art, including knowledge of the practical and theoretical basis of the area and knowledge and experience of methods and processes used. The programme is also aimed at developing your capacity for independently creating, realising, and expressing your own ideas, including identifying, formulating, and solving artistic and interpretational problems.

The programme begins with a set of compulsory foundation courses dealing primarily with different artistic techniques and the development of the artist’s role over the last two hundred years. After this, students select their courses in theory, technique, and artistic creation. The topics offered vary from year to year, depending on students’ interests and the current artistic activities of teaching staff.

The Academy will interview 25 applicants for the 12 places on the programme.
