Programme profile


Automation engineering is a field of engineering which enables the effective and economical operations of both production equipment and processes. Automation engineering applications are used e.g. in paper, chemical and food industries, in real estate heating processes, vehicles and traffic control, production of electricity and handling of drinking water. Automation is widely utilised and new innovative automation applications are continuously being launched.

Graduates of this programme typically work in design and advisory roles with high technology companies.

Programme content


The aim programme is to provide future automation engineers with the latest know-how in industrial and energy production automation of the operating, planning and implementing principles of automation equipment and systems. An automation engineer needs to understand and know how to apply technical solutions in measurement technology, control engineering, electronics, telecommunications, electrical power engineering, programming and maintenance as part of automation technology integration.

In order to operate as technical professionals , graduates also have to possess a blend of communication and teamworking skills, an advanced practical approach to technical knowledge, and an understanding of the financial management of a company.

The university does not currently offer a related masters programme that is taught through English.
