Programme profile

Econometricians combine mathematics and statistics with economics to support business and economic decision making. They excel in the complex world of global logistic chains and international finance. In this programme, which is newly introduced for 2012, you learn to build models for economic decision making and processes. Logistic firms use econometric models to optimise supply chains, banks for investments and to predict financial markets, and the government to make policy decisions and predict economic growth. The modules in years one and two are predetermined to give a solid foundation in Mathematics, Statistics and Economics. Third year offers more freedom. You choose a speciality, follow elective courses and write your bachelor"s thesis.

Erasmus School of Economics has a good reputation and is known for its expertise in applying theoretical knowledge in practical situations. This results, for example, in a wide number of media appearances by our faculty members on issues such as the current financial crisis.
