Osnabruck University of Applied Sciences was founded in 1971, though it has only had its current "Fachochschule" status since 2003. The university currently has over 10.400 students studying on more than 50 accredited Bachelor and 25 accredited Master programmes.

It has four faculties - Agriculture and Landscape Architecture; Business Management and Social Sciences; Engineering and Computer Science; Management, Culture and Technology - as well as an Academy of Music.
