Established in 1950, the Medical University of Warsaw (MUW) is the largest medical school in Poland. MUW has over nine thousand students following degree programmes in eleven principal subject areas and in three specialties.The University has 141 departments and clinics.

The main objective of the Medical University of Warsaw is to provide medical education, however, there are also opportunities for students to participate in numerous research programs carried out at the University. Furthermore, students wishing to focus their attention and ability on a specific topic of medicine have an opportunity to attend a studentsメ research group. This kind of study is supervised by a tutor (usually a senior professor chosen by a student). The objective of the study is to extend and intensify the studentsメ knowledge of a particular discipline.

MUWメs hospitals are outfitted with modern diagnostic and treatment equipment including but not limited to: CAT scans, MRI, PET, and DSAs. The hospitals also have ultrasound equipment, diagnostic laboratories and state-of-the-art equipment for radiation therapy and surgery.The Medical University of Warsaw has 16 affiliated hospitals where students are trained in almost all fields of medicine including, but not limited to, oncology, pediatrics, OB/GYn, ophthalmology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, surgery, transplantation medicine, and clinical immunology. The amount of patients under medical care at any one time is around 200,000, and approximately twice as many in the outpatient clinics

The Medical University of Warsaw has at disposal for international students 50 rooms in the Students` Hostel. The price for a single room is €1250 for one semester, a place in a double room is €750 for one semester
